Located on the exterior wall of Shoppers Drug Mart, the 11’ x 55’ mural, Clash of Cultures, is the work of Grand Falls-Windsor-based artist Craig Goudie. The work is drawn from Beothuk history and the story of Demasduit, the aunt of Shawnadithit and one of the last survivors of the Beothuk. Goudie presents a storyline of Demasduit’s later life, from her capture in 1819, the attempt to return her to Red Indian Lake, and her death while onboard a vessel in Botwood harbor in 1820.

Clash of Cultures is one of four murals Goudie created for the Botwood Mural Arts Society. The other three are located at the Memorial Grounds and Botwood Kinsmen Public Library.

The Government of Canada recognizes Demasduit as a person of national historic significance with a commemorative plaque, which is located at Airbase Place in Botwood.
